set Midi clock offline to start a drum machine?

    in MC6 Technical Support

    Hi guys,

i ordered a MC6 and of course the killer feature is the midi clock tap tempo for me. I thought i can control an Elektron Octatrack to tap the tempo to the drummers tempo and then start the Octatrack on 1.

Is this possible? As i imagine when i tap the midi clock tempo, the octatrack thinks its getting midi clock and starts immediately the playback? Or may i start the tap on the MC6 and after 4 taps it starts or i press another button to start the playback...

I get the MC6 Mk1 today, but i'm a bit disapointed. For my purpose as a start and pattern change thing for a drum machine or DAW it is half useless. First of all the real time messages (start, stop, contine) does't work on any DAW. The second issue is, when i setup a start button for the drum machine on the pedal (simple midi note on). The command reaches the drum machine about 16th note later (at 100 BPM). With a midi keyboard the drum machine starts on point. The MC 6 got heavy latency over midi...for a drop in on a drummer its also useless.

Sad. Keeps only for pattern change and tap tempo. Tap tempo works ok, but the sub menu for taps can be better without. The 2.6 beta doesn't give any progress....Hope it can be repaired with software...
